It all began in
Ribera Del Duero
Ribera del Duero is one of the many regions in Spain where it's believed that the Romans cultivated their vineyards. This points out the fact that this wine was originally meant to supply the legions from the Great Empire. However, the Monks of Cluny were responsible for the spread of the wine culture in this part of the Iberian plateau, since they were the ones who mastered the secrets of wine cultivation.
